    Moctesuma Esparza is an American film producer, director, and entrepreneur. He is best known for producing the 1992 film, “Selena,” which was the first major studio film about a Hispanic person. He has also produced several other films, including “The Milagro Beanfield War,” “Goddess of the Fireflies,” and “The Other Conquest.” He is the founder of Maya Cinemas, a chain of movie theaters in California and Nevada, and is the founder and chairman of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the National Medal of Arts, the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Imagen Foundation’s Vision Award.
