    Bio:

    Waldo Salt (1914-1987) was an American screenwriter known for his work on films such as Midnight Cowboy, Serpico, and Coming Home. He was blacklisted during the McCarthy era for his left-wing political beliefs and was unable to work in Hollywood for several years. Despite this setback, he continued to write under pseudonyms and eventually regained his reputation as a respected screenwriter. Salt won two Academy Awards for Best Screenplay and was posthumously inducted into the Blacklist Hall of Fame in 1993.
