    Terry Southern was an American novelist, essayist, and screenwriter known for his satirical and irreverent style. He was born in 1924 in Texas and served in the Army during World War II. Southern’s most famous works include the novels “The Magic Christian” and “Candy,” as well as his screenplays for films such as “Dr. Strangelove” and “Easy Rider.” He died in 1995.
