    Bio:

    Roy Chanslor (1899-1964) was an American author and screenwriter. He is best known for his Western novels, including “The Ballad of Cat Ballou,” which was adapted into a successful film starring Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. Chanslor also wrote for film and television, contributing to popular shows such as “Gunsmoke” and “Have Gun – Will Travel.” He passed away in 1964 at the age of 65.
