    Roberto Rossellini (1906-1977) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He is considered one of the pioneers of neorealism in cinema, a movement that aimed to portray the reality of post-World War II Italy. Some of his most famous films include “Rome, Open City” (1945), “Paisan” (1946), and “Germany Year Zero” (1948). Rossellini was also known for his personal life, which included high-profile relationships with actresses Ingrid Bergman and Anna Magnani.
