    Ray Nelson (born October 3, 1931) is an American science fiction author and cartoonist. He is best known for his short story “Eight O’Clock in the Morning,” which was adapted into the 1988 film They Live. Nelson has also written several novels, including The Ganymede Takeover (co-written with Philip K. Dick) and Blake’s Progress. He has been nominated for the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award.
