He is best known for his plays “The Philadelphia Story” and “Holiday,” both of which were adapted into successful films. Barry was a member of the Algonquin Round Table, a group of writers and intellectuals who met regularly at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City. He died on December 3, 1949, in New York City.
