Nadine Labaki is a Lebanese actress, director, and writer. She was born on February 18, 1974, in Beirut, Lebanon. Labaki began her career as an actress in the late 1990s before transitioning to directing and writing. She is best known for her films “Caramel” (2007), “Where Do We Go Now?” (2011), and “Capernaum” (2018), which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Labaki has received numerous awards and nominations for her work, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film for “Capernaum.” She is also a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency.
