Max Allan Collins is an American mystery writer and graphic novelist. He was born on March 3, 1948, in Muscatine, Iowa. Collins is best known for his series of novels featuring the detective Nathan Heller, as well as his graphic novel adaptations of the Dick Tracy comic strip. He has also written several tie-in novels for popular TV shows and movies, including CSI and Road to Perdition. Collins has won numerous awards for his work, including the Private Eye Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award.
