    Marzieh Makhmalbaf is an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, and actress. She was born on September 22, 1980, in Tehran, Iran. She is the daughter of renowned Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf and has worked on several of his films as an assistant director. Marzieh made her directorial debut with the film “The Apple” in 1998, which won several awards at international film festivals. She has since directed several other films, including “At Five in the Afternoon” and “Two-Legged Horse.” Marzieh is known for her socially conscious and politically charged films that explore themes of gender, identity, and cultural conflict.
