    Louis Begley is an American writer and lawyer, best known for his novel “About Schmidt” which was adapted into a successful film starring Jack Nicholson. He has written several other novels, including “Wartime Lies” and “Mistler’s Exit”. Begley was born in Poland in 1933 and emigrated to the United States in 1946. He graduated from Harvard Law School and practiced law for many years before turning to writing full-time.
