    James Warner Bellah (1899-1976) was an American author and screenwriter. He is best known for his Western stories, which were published in magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post and Collier’s. Bellah also wrote several novels, including “The Valiant Virginians” and “The Marines Were There.” He worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood, contributing to films such as “Fort Apache” and “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon.” Bellah served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
