    James Fenimore Cooper is doing pretty well for himself, ranking in the top 40% of all writers in the Fresh Kernels Database. He’s definitely a B-List writer, but he’s still making a name for himself!
     

    Bio:

    James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851) was an American writer known for his historical novels, particularly his Leatherstocking Tales series which includes The Last of the Mohicans. He was born in New Jersey and spent much of his childhood in upstate New York. Cooper served in the U.S. Navy before turning to writing, and his experiences at sea influenced many of his works. He is considered one of the first American novelists and helped establish the genre of the historical novel in the United States.
