    Heinrich Mann was a German novelist and essayist, born on March 27, 1871, in Lübeck, Germany. He was the elder brother of the famous German novelist Thomas Mann. Heinrich Mann’s works often dealt with social and political issues, and he was known for his criticism of the German government during the Weimar Republic. Some of his most famous works include “Professor Unrat” (1905), which was later adapted into the film “The Blue Angel,” and “Der Untertan” (1918), which criticized the authoritarianism of the German Empire. Mann died on March 11, 1950, in Santa Monica, California.
