    Bio:

    Franco Solinas (1927-1982) was an Italian screenwriter and political activist. He is best known for his collaborations with director Gillo Pontecorvo on the films “The Battle of Algiers” and “Queimada.” Solinas was a member of the Italian Communist Party and his work often reflected his political beliefs. He also wrote several novels and essays on politics and cinema. Solinas died in Paris in 1982.
