Don Bluth is an American animator, director, and producer known for his work on animated films such as The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, and The Land Before Time. He began his career at Walt Disney Productions, but left to start his own animation studio, Don Bluth Productions, in 1979. Bluth’s films often feature darker themes and more complex characters than traditional animated films, and he is credited with helping to revive the animation industry in the 1980s.
