Claude Zidi is a French film director and screenwriter known for his work in the comedy genre. He was born on July 25, 1934, in Paris, France. Zidi began his career in the film industry as an assistant director before making his directorial debut with the film “Boum sur Paris” in 1963. He went on to direct several successful films, including “Les Sous-doués” (1980), “Les Ripoux” (1984), and “La Totale!” (1991). Zidi has won several awards for his work, including a César Award for Best Director for “Les Ripoux” in 1985. He retired from filmmaking in 2012.
