    Claude Lanzmann was a French filmmaker and journalist, best known for his documentary film “Shoah” which explored the Holocaust through interviews with survivors, witnesses, and perpetrators. He was born on November 27, 1925, in Paris, France, and died on July 5, 2018, in Paris at the age of 92. Lanzmann was also a writer, publishing several books including “The Patagonian Hare: A Memoir” and “The Last of the Just.” He was awarded numerous honors for his work, including the Legion of Honor and the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
