He was born on February 6, 1981, in Río de Oro, Colombia. Guerra studied film at the National University of Colombia and began his career as a director with the short film “Silent Night” in 2002. He has since directed several award-winning films that explore the cultural and historical complexities of Colombia. Guerra is considered one of the most important filmmakers in Latin America today.
