Bruce Jay Friedman (1930-2020) was an American novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. He was known for his dark humor and satirical writing style, often exploring themes of Jewish identity and the absurdity of modern life. Some of his most famous works include the novels “Stern” and “A Mother’s Kisses,” as well as the plays “Scuba Duba” and “Steambath.” Friedman also wrote screenplays for films such as “Splash” and “Stir Crazy.” He passed away in 2020 at the age of 90.
