Brian Selznick is an American writer and illustrator known for his children’s books. He was born on July 14, 1966, in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Selznick studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and later worked as a set designer and puppeteer. He gained widespread recognition for his book “The Invention of Hugo Cabret,” which won the Caldecott Medal in 2008. Selznick’s other notable works include “Wonderstruck” and “The Marvels.”
