Alberto Granado was an Argentine biochemist, doctor, writer, and scientist. He was born on August 8, 1922, in Hernando, Argentina, and died on March 5, 2011, in Havana, Cuba. Granado is best known for his role as a companion of Che Guevara during their motorcycle journey across South America, which was later documented in the book “The Motorcycle Diaries.” He was also a professor of biochemistry and pharmacology at the University of Havana and worked on various scientific projects throughout his life.
