Zana Briski is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, photographer, and educator. She is best known for her Academy Award-winning documentary Born into Brothels, which follows the lives of children living in the red-light district of Calcutta, India. Briski has since gone on to create a number of other documentaries, including Off the Map, which follows the lives of children living in remote parts of India, and The Day My God Died, which examines the issue of child trafficking in India. Briski is also the founder of Kids with Cameras, a non-profit organization that provides photography and filmmaking classes to children living in disadvantaged communities.
