    Bio:

    William Castle was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his horror films, which often featured innovative special effects and elaborate gimmicks. His most famous films include The Tingler (1959), House on Haunted Hill (1959), 13 Ghosts (1960), and Homicidal (1961). Castle also directed the classic film noir, The Night Walker (1964). He was known for his outrageous promotional campaigns, which often included giving away “fright insurance” to moviegoers. Castle died in 1977 at the age of 63.
