Ronald Neame was an English film cinematographer, producer, and director. He was born in London in 1911 and began his career as a cinematographer in the 1930s. He worked on a number of classic films, including The Thief of Bagdad (1940), Great Expectations (1946), and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969). He also directed and produced a number of films, including The Horse’s Mouth (1958), The Poseidon Adventure (1972), and The Odessa File (1974). Neame was nominated for three Academy Awards and won a BAFTA for Best British Film for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. He died in 2010 at the age of 99.
