Richard Lester is an English film director, film producer, screenwriter, and actor. He is best known for his work on the Beatles films A Hard Day’s Night (1964) and Help! (1965). He also directed the classic Superman films Superman II (1980) and Superman III (1983). He has also directed a number of other films, including The Knack…and How to Get It (1965), Petulia (1968), Juggernaut (1974), and The Three Musketeers (1973). He has been nominated for two Academy Awards and has won two BAFTA Awards.
