    Bio:

    Preston Sturges (1898-1959) was an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He is widely considered one of the most innovative and influential filmmakers of the 1940s. He wrote and directed some of the most acclaimed comedies of the era, including The Lady Eve, Sullivan’s Travels, and The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek. He was the first writer-director to receive an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for The Great McGinty. He was also the first person to be nominated for four Academy Awards in one year. His work is known for its sharp wit, clever dialogue, and social satire.
