Oren Peli is an Israeli-American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for writing, directing, and producing the horror film Paranormal Activity (2007), which was made on a budget of only $15,000 and grossed over $193 million worldwide. He has since produced several other horror films, including Insidious (2010), Chernobyl Diaries (2012), and The Bay (2012). Peli has also directed the science fiction thriller Area 51 (2015) and the supernatural horror film The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018).
