    Leon Fromkess was an American film producer and executive who worked in the film industry from the 1930s to the 1960s. He was known for producing a number of classic films, including The Big Sleep (1946), The Lady from Shanghai (1948), and The Big Heat (1953). He was also a key figure in the development of the film noir genre, producing a number of films in the genre. Fromkess was also a pioneer in the use of color film, producing the first color film noir, The Glass Wall (1953). He was also a major force in the development of the 3-D film, producing the first 3-D film noir, Man in the Dark (1953).
