    Bio:

    Jonathan Demme was an American filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter. He was best known for directing the films The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, and Rachel Getting Married. He won an Academy Award for Best Director for The Silence of the Lambs and was also nominated for Best Picture for Philadelphia. He was also known for his documentary films, including The Agronomist, Stop Making Sense, and The Manchurian Candidate. Demme passed away in 2017 at the age of 73.
