Jan de Bont is a Dutch cinematographer, director, and film producer. He is best known for directing the 1994 action film Speed, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and the 1996 disaster film Twister, starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. He has also produced films such as The Haunting, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. De Bont has been nominated for two Academy Awards and has won numerous awards, including the Saturn Award for Best Director.
