    Bio:

    George Stevens was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He is best known for his Academy Award-winning films A Place in the Sun (1951), Giant (1956), and The Diary of Anne Frank (1959). He was also nominated for an Academy Award for directing The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965). Stevens was a major figure in the Golden Age of Hollywood and was known for his versatility and ability to work in a variety of genres. He was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
