Douglas Kenney was an American comedy writer and actor best known for co-founding the magazine National Lampoon and writing the screenplays for Animal House and Caddyshack. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1947 and attended Harvard University, where he wrote for the Harvard Lampoon. After graduating, he moved to New York City and co-founded National Lampoon with Henry Beard and Robert Hoffman. He wrote and acted in several of the magazine’s stage shows and films, and wrote the screenplays for Animal House and Caddyshack. Kenney died in 1980 at the age of 33.
