Anna Boden is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. She is best known for co-directing the Marvel Studios film Captain Marvel (2019) with Ryan Fleck, making her the first female director of a Marvel Studios film. Boden began her career as a screenwriter, writing and directing the independent feature film Half Nelson (2006), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. She has since gone on to direct and produce a number of films and television series, including Mississippi Grind (2015), The Affair (2014-2015), and Billions (2016-2017).
