Adam Schlesinger was an American songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was a founding member of the bands Fountains of Wayne and Ivy, and won an Academy Award for his song “That Thing You Do!” He was also a prolific songwriter for film and television, writing songs for shows such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Tick, and Sesame Street. He was nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and Grammy Awards, and won three Emmy Awards for his work on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 52.
