    Bio:

    Todd Solondz is an American independent filmmaker known for his darkly comedic and controversial films. He was born on October 15, 1959, in Newark, New Jersey. Solondz attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied film. He gained critical acclaim for his 1995 film “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Solondz is also known for his films “Happiness,” “Storytelling,” and “Palindromes.” He often explores taboo subjects such as pedophilia, rape, and suicide in his films.
