    Bio:

    Sam Wood was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on July 10, 1883, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and began his career in the film industry in the early 1910s. Wood directed over 70 films throughout his career, including classics such as “A Night at the Opera” and “Gone with the Wind.” He was nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Director and won an honorary Oscar in 1949 for his contributions to the film industry. Wood passed away on September 22, 1949, in Hollywood, California, at the age of 66.
