    Sam Peckinpah was an American film director and screenwriter known for his violent and controversial films. He was born on February 21, 1925, in Fresno, California, and began his career as a writer for television shows in the 1950s. Peckinpah’s most famous films include “The Wild Bunch,” “Straw Dogs,” and “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.” He was known for his use of slow-motion violence and his exploration of themes such as masculinity, honor, and betrayal. Peckinpah died on December 28, 1984, in Inglewood, California, at the age of 59.
