    Bio:

    Robert Benton is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on September 29, 1932, in Waxahachie, Texas. Benton began his career as a writer for Esquire magazine before transitioning to screenwriting. He won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film “Kramer vs. Kramer” in 1980 and again for “Places in the Heart” in 1985. Benton has also directed several films, including “The Late Show,” “Nobody’s Fool,” and “The Human Stain.” He has been nominated for numerous awards throughout his career and is considered one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation.
