Well, let’s just say Richard Brooks is so far down the list that he’s practically in the negatives. He’s definitely on the F-List, but hey, at least he’s not alone down there. Maybe he can start a support group with the other directors who have a less than 1% ROI.
Richard Brooks was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on May 18, 1912, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died on March 11, 1992, in Beverly Hills, California. Brooks directed and wrote the screenplays for several notable films, including “Blackboard Jungle,” “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” and “In Cold Blood.” He was nominated for several Academy Awards and won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for “Elmer Gantry” in 1961. Brooks was known for his socially conscious films that tackled controversial topics such as racism, corruption, and the death penalty.
