She was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1986 and studied film directing at the Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University. Khatchvani’s films often explore themes of tradition, family, and gender roles in Georgian society. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including the Best Director award at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2017.
