    Well, Luis Valdez may be on the F-List, but at least he’s in the top 5% of directors in terms of ROI. So, he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
     

    Bio:

    Luis Valdez is a Mexican-American playwright, actor, and film director. He is best known for his work in the Chicano theater movement and for directing the film “La Bamba” (1987). Valdez was born in Delano, California in 1940 and grew up in a migrant farmworker family. He founded the Teatro Campesino in 1965, a theater group that performed for and about farmworkers. Valdez has also directed several other films, including “Zoot Suit” (1981) and “Corridos: Tales of Passion and Revolution” (1987). He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Presidential Medal of Arts in 2015.
