    Luchino Visconti was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and playwright. He was born on November 2, 1906, in Milan, Italy, and died on March 17, 1976, in Rome, Italy. Visconti is considered one of the most important and influential filmmakers of the Italian neorealist movement. He directed several critically acclaimed films, including “La Terra Trema,” “Rocco and His Brothers,” and “The Leopard.” Visconti was also known for his work in theater and opera, directing productions at La Scala in Milan and the Royal Opera House in London.
