Lee Isaac Chung is a Korean-American filmmaker known for his work as a writer and director. He was born on October 19, 1978, in Denver, Colorado, and grew up in Lincoln, Arkansas. Chung studied biology at Yale University before pursuing a career in film. He has directed several critically acclaimed films, including “Munyurangabo” (2007), “Lucky Life” (2010), and “Abigail Harm” (2012). In 2020, Chung’s film “Minari” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award. The film was also nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
