Laura Poitras is an American documentary filmmaker and journalist known for her work on national security issues. She gained international recognition for her documentary film “Citizenfour,” which chronicles Edward Snowden’s revelations about the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs. Poitras has won numerous awards for her work, including an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2015. She continues to produce films and write articles on issues related to government surveillance and civil liberties.
