Joel Coen is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on November 29, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Coen is best known for his work with his brother Ethan Coen, with whom he has collaborated on numerous films, including Fargo, The Big Lebowski, and No Country for Old Men. The Coen brothers have won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture for No Country for Old Men. Joel Coen has also directed films on his own, including The Ladykillers and Hail, Caesar!.
