Jared Hess is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for directing the cult classic film “Napoleon Dynamite” (2004) and the comedy “Nacho Libre” (2006). Hess was born on July 18, 1979, in Glendale, Arizona, and attended Brigham Young University, where he studied film. He began his career making short films and commercials before making his feature film debut with “Napoleon Dynamite.” Hess has also directed the films “Gentlemen Broncos” (2009), “Don Verdean” (2015), and “Masterminds” (2016).
