Well, James Whale may not be at the top of the Fresh Kernels Database in terms of Average ROI, but at least he’s not in the bottom 1% like some other B-list directors. Let’s give him a solid 50% for effort!

    Bio:

James Whale was a British film director best known for his work in the horror genre during the 1930s. He directed several iconic films, including Frankenstein (1931) and The Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Whale’s unique visual style and use of humor in his horror films set him apart from other directors of the time. He also directed non-horror films, such as the musical Show Boat (1936). Whale’s career declined in the 1940s, and he retired from filmmaking in 1941. He died in 1957 at the age of 67.
