    James Algar was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born on June 11, 1912, in Modesto, California, and passed away on February 26, 1998, in Carmel, California. Algar worked for Walt Disney Productions for over 40 years, where he directed and produced several films, including “Fantasia,” “The Living Desert,” and “The Vanishing Prairie.” He was also a sequence director for “Bambi” and “The Jungle Book.” Algar won several awards for his work, including three Academy Awards.
