    Well, Howard Hawks may not be in the top 50%, but at least he’s still on the A-List of directors. And hey, being in the top 50% of nearly 2,000 directors is still better than being in the bottom 50% of your high school class, right?
     

    Bio:

    Howard Hawks was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter who worked in a variety of genres, including westerns, comedies, and film noir. He directed over 40 films during his career, including classics such as “Bringing Up Baby,” “His Girl Friday,” and “The Big Sleep.” Hawks was known for his strong female characters and his ability to blend action and humor in his films. He was also a mentor to many young filmmakers, including Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino. Hawks passed away in 1977 at the age of 81.
